For international tourism, the majority of drivers are hired by tour companies or local tourism agencies, commonly referred to as driver guides. This is because they are responsible for driving while simultaneously providing tourists with information and insights about the sights along the way. Driver guides also play a role in planning itineraries and possess knowledge about parks, conservation areas, and other points of interest for tourists.
They offer driving services, are well-acquainted with the region, have expertise in the parks and other tourism amenities, and can share valuable information with travellers. They have never been convicted of any felonies or crimes involving moral turpitude, nor have they made any false statements or submitted fraudulent documentation. Additionally, they have never had any professional or other licences revoked in any jurisdiction due to issues related to operating a motor vehicle. Most importantly, they have fulfilled the training requirements established by the RDB and hold a valid driver’s licence.
