Serengeti National Park in Tanzania is the largest national park in northern Tanzania. The park stretches over 14,763 km2. It is located in the eastern Mara Region and north-eastern Simiyu Region and contains over 1,500,000 hectares of virgin savanna. Serengeti National park was established in 1940 and is well known for the largest annual animal migration in the world of over 1.5 million blue wildebeest and 250,000 zebras along with smaller herds of Thomson’s gazelle and eland.
